This week I got out my deck of Goddess Knowledge Cards to see what wisdom I could gain. On Sundays for the last couple of months, I put into practice my “soaking time.” Yes, as a mom of three I have to schedule “me time”, even baths…. and also decide that I will take it, instead of being distracted with all there is to do. I know you know what I mean, Love.
This practice is not only good for my mental health, but also for me physical body as well. As a Mother, we end up being all things to all people in the home naturally, because let’s face it….we are pretty amazing! This superpower also gets drained, and we need to fill that well of love and motivation back up.
Let me break down the benefits of soaking at least 20 minutes in Epsom Salts and your pick of doTERRA Essential Oils.
- Eases stress and improves sleep and concentration
- Softens skin
- Soothes sore muscles
- Relieves cramps and pain associated with PMS
- Helps muscles and nerves function properly
- Regulates activity of 325+ enzymes
- Relieves occasional muscle discomfort
- Improves oxygen use
- Flush toxins
- Improve absorption of nutrients
- Help joint discomfort
- Help prevent or ease occasional head tension
Just add a cup or 2 of Epsom Salt in a hot bath, and about 10 drops of your favorite doTERRA Essential Oil. Always us chemical free soaps and shampoo/conditioners while bathing, (and all the time really!) because your pores will absorb the product right up and we want to be sure we are doing good for our bodies here.

Just decide what kind of support you need and adjust your essential oils accordingly. Do you need to relax, invigorate, refresh, sooth, unwind, detox?
Just pick what you are drawn to or create a custom mix! Here are just a few suggestions but feel free to play. Don’t forget that if an oil is spicy, it will be warm to the skin. Some oils are too warm to be in a bath and get on your lady parts!
- Relaxation: Serenity, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood
- Detox: Balance Blend and Serenity, Lemon and Lavender, Zendocrine
- Invigorate: Wild Orange, Grapefruit, Citrus Bliss,
- Help Open Airways: Eucalyptus, Breathe Blend
- Better Skin: Melaleuca, Lavender, Frankincense, Helichrysum
- Muscle Discomfort: Lemongrass, Marjoram
- Soothe Skin: Lavender, Melaleuca
So I have my bath drawn, I dim the lights, light some all natural candles, put some crystals around the tub and soak. This week before I soaked I drew a card from the Goddess Knowledge Deck and drew Goddess Fortuna. I will get into her meaning in a second here.
So that is my Sunday’s Sacred “Soaking Time” practice that I encourage all of you to start as well! You not only deserve it you truly need it.
Today’s breakfast was a quick organizing sesh as well. My breakfast was amazing, by the way. Steel cut oats, fresh strawberries, chia seeds, shredded coconut, walnuts, and 2 drops of doTERRA Grapefruit Essention Oil!
Grapefruit essential oil not only adds a burst of citrus flavor but also has awesome other benefits. It cleanses and purifies, is beneficial for healthy looking skin, supports healthy metabolism, and uplifts mood.
Before I got to my scheduling and organizing for the day, I pulled another Goddess card. Yup! You guessed it. I pulled Fortuna again. Ok. I get it. I totally believe in listening to messages we are given, so I looked into her a bit more.
Fortuna, in Roman religion is a goddess of chance. She is an original Italian deity and was regarded as the bearer of prosperity and abundance. She resembles a fertility deity, so her association with the bounty of the soil and the fruitfulness of women. Fortuna is often represented bearing a cornucopia as the giver of abundance and a rudder as controller of destinies, or standing on a ball to indicate the uncertainty of fortune. She controls the destinies of all human beings and for some reason is coming to me this week.
I think I will keep her card with me all week and draw on her wisdom. She can be good or bad luck, but either way she gives us a calm approach when dealing with a problem or pressures. Dear Fortuna, I honor you message and knowledge.
